Profile:

Meltem is a Turkish Ph.D. candidate from Izmir, Turkey. She received her B.Sc. in Biology Education Department from Balıkesir University and received her M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from Izmir Institute of Technology. During her master education, she did an internship for six months in the Madrid Autonomous University, Department of Biotechnology and Carlos III Health Institute, Neural Regeneration Laboratory in Madrid, Spain.

Since 1st November 2018, Meltem has been performing her ESR project / Ph.D. thesis within the transMed consortium in Prof. Valeria Marigo's Lab at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy and has been working on gene expression changes in dying photoreceptors.
